Announcement and Call for Papers

Objective:

The 7th. URSI Forum is offering a meeting opportunity to all Belgian researchers working towards a Ph.D. in the different scientific fields covered by URSI (International Union of Radio Science - Union Radio-Scientifique Internationale). The meeting provides to the researchers and to the academic and scientific staff of the Belgian universities and institutes a unique opportunity to be informed about the different research programmes.

Organisation:

Following the evaluations of the previous editions of the URSI Forum, the structure of the Forum will be constituted of Posters Sessions, in which contributions from different research groups at the Belgian universities and institutes are grouped along the fields of interests of URSI. Each session will be introduced with a poster pre-view session (3 minutes per poster) of the posters on display.

Submission of abstracts:

The contributions will be evaluated by a Scientific Programme Committee on the basis of the 3-page summary, in the case of a final year Ph.D. project, or on the basis of a 1-page abstract, in the case of an ongoing Ph.D. project.

Submission is required by November 30th 1999.

Electronic submission of abstracts prepared in MsWord, PDF or Postscript is possible.

An area of 1m (wide) x 2m (high) will be available for all selected posters.

Proceedings:

The proceedings of the URSI Forum will consist of a collection of the submitted abstracts and summaries and will be distributed at the Forum to all participants.

Registration:

Registration is required in any case and can be done by returning the annexed form before December 1st 1999. Registration is free for Ph.D. students but for non-Ph.D. students and staff members, a fee of 2500 Bef is charged to cover expenses as proceedings, lunch, coffee breaks and reception.
